Functional Skills Maths

Course overview

We teach Functional Skills Maths at all levels from entry levels, level 1 and level 2 (grade 4/C in GCSE) for learners looking to simply improve their employability skills as well as for learners interested in progression into vocational learning. Courses are tied to the Functional Skills syllabus and address the key numerical skills needed for daily life including: numbers and number systems, shapes, space, measures and handling data.

We offer different attendance methods, but please note that for courses are delivered online, learners are required to attend a face-to-face exam at LIBS Training at the end of the programme.

Requirements, qualifications and progression

Entry Requirements

  • Entry level 1: There are no formal entry requirements but you will complete an initial assessment with LIBS Training.
  • Entry level 2: You will need to complete a Mathematics initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Entry level 2 or present evidence you have already achieved an Entry Level 1 qualification.
  • Entry level 3: You will need to complete a Mathematics initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Entry level 3 or present evidence you have already achieved an Entry Level 2 qualification.
  • Level 1: You will need to complete a Mathematics initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Level 1 or present evidence you have already achieved an Entry Level 3 qualification.
  • Level 2: You will need to complete a Mathematics initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Level 2 or present evidence you have already achieved a Level 1 qualification.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualifications in Functional Skills Mathematics from Entry Level 1 to Level 2

Progression

  • Upon achieving the level 2 qualification, you can either progress into a vocational course to enhance your knowledge and employability or into higher education by applying for a university course.
