Essential Digital Skills
Course overview
This course will enable you to learn about basic computers skills and apply them in both your personal and professional life. Digital Skills equips you with the skills needed to succeed in all aspects of life, work and learning.
At the end of this course, you will be able to: interact with and use an ICT system to meet needs and solve problems e.g. to display data in a graph, or organise information; enter, edit, and organise data in a spreadsheet; apply editing, formatting and layout techniques to meet needs using different software applications. You will also be able to use the Internet to search for information, send and receive emails and searching for jobs online, create and setup a social networking account (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter), send/share messages, photos and videos to your contacts. Protect personal details online, take a photo on a digital device, view or delete a photo. Make albums, move photos and make photos clearer; use a music app on a smartphone/tablet.

Entry Requirements
- Entry level 3: You will need to complete an IT initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Entry level 3 or present evidence you have already achieved an Entry Level 2 qualification.
- Level 1: You will need to complete an IT initial assessment with LIBS Training where you must score at working towards Level 1 or present evidence you have already achieved an Entry Level 3 qualification.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualifications in Digital Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 3 to Level 1
Progression
- Achieving this qualification should increase your confidence and motivation and the give you the skills you will need to progress to ICT level 2 or a vocational qualification. This will also help you to search and apply for jobs online.
